Dassault CEO Rejects 'Dual-Fighter' Concept for FCAS Program
Dassault Aviation's CEO, Éric Trappier, has firmly dismissed a proposal to develop two different aircraft for the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) program. The idea, reportedly floated by partners, suggested creating a heavy fighter alongside a lighter, complementary jet. Trappier emphasized that this dual-platform approach is not what France, Germany, and Spain agreed upon and would be overly complex and costly. He reaffirmed that the project's focus must remain on the single Next-Generation Fighter (NGF) as its centerpiece. Trappier warned that deviating from the original plan could jeopardize the entire program's viability and timeline.
