Civilian Hero Honored for Rescuing Two from Fiery Pembroke Pines Plane Crash
A man is being honored by the City of Pembroke Pines for his heroic actions following a small plane crash. Fernando Valdivia, a landscape worker, was nearby when the single-engine Socata TB10 went down near North Perry Airport. He rushed to the scene and pulled both the pilot and a passenger from the fiery wreckage. Valdivia is being hailed as a "true hero" for his selfless bravery before first responders arrived. The NTSB and FAA are currently investigating the cause of the February 13th incident.
