Chinese eVTOL Maker Volato Secures Key Flight Test Qualification for M1 Aircraft

Chinese eVTOL startup Volato has achieved a significant regulatory milestone for its M1 aircraft. The East China Regional Administration of the CAAC granted the company a Prototype Flight Test Qualification for the two-ton tilt-rotor vehicle. This marks the first time this specific approval has been given to a craft of its type and weight class in China. The M1 is designed for a 250 km range and a cruising speed of 200 km/h, targeting the burgeoning low-altitude economy. This qualification is a critical step for Volato as it progresses towards obtaining full type certification, which it anticipates by 2026.
