Cathay Pacific Reports 11% Surge in April Cargo Volumes
Cathay Pacific has announced a significant increase in its cargo operations for April 2024, with volumes rising 11 percent compared to the same month last year. The airline transported 119,000 tonnes of cargo, largely driven by strong e-commerce demand from Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland. This positive performance was also supported by solid demand from other key markets, including Taiwan, the Americas, and Europe. While cargo revenue tonne kilometres (RFTKs) saw a 4.5 percent increase, the overall cargo load factor slightly decreased to 59.4 percent. For the first four months of 2024, total cargo tonnage is up 10 percent year-on-year.
