Cathay Cargo Expands Airbus A350F Order to Strengthen Hong Kong Hub
The Cathay Group has exercised its purchase rights to acquire six additional Airbus A350F new-generation freighters. This move doubles the airline's firm order for the aircraft to a total of 12. The strategic fleet expansion is aimed at reinforcing Hong Kong's position as the world's leading air cargo hub. These advanced, fuel-efficient A350Fs are slated to replace Cathay's aging Boeing 747 freighter fleet. The first aircraft from this order is expected to be delivered in 2026, with the airline retaining rights to acquire 14 more.
