Cathay Cargo Doubles Down on Fleet Modernization with Additional Airbus A350F Order

Cathay Cargo has officially converted its purchase rights for six additional Airbus A350F freighters into firm orders. This move doubles the airline's total commitment for the new-generation cargo aircraft to twelve. The initial order for six A350Fs was placed in December 2023 as part of a major fleet renewal plan. These new aircraft are scheduled to begin delivery from 2027 onwards. The A350F will replace Cathay's aging Boeing 747 freighter fleet, offering significant improvements in fuel efficiency and payload capacity. This strategic investment aims to strengthen Cathay's cargo network and reinforce Hong Kong's position as a leading global air cargo hub.
