Canada Funds Major Air Cargo and Port Upgrades to Diversify Global Trade
The Canadian government is investing heavily in its national transportation infrastructure to reduce its trade dependency on the United States. Through the National Trade Corridors Fund, significant capital is being allocated to enhance the efficiency of ports, rail, and airports. Key aviation projects include a C$2.1 billion expansion at Calgary International Airport to establish a major cargo and logistics hub. Additionally, Halifax Stanfield International Airport is receiving C$39.9 million to expand its air cargo handling facilities. These investments are designed to strengthen supply chains and create new trade routes with Asia and Europe.
