Brussels Airport Reports 6.2% Rise in April Cargo Volumes
Brussels Airport's total cargo volume increased by 6.2 percent in April 2024, reaching a total of 70,086 tonnes compared to the same month last year. This growth was primarily driven by a 9.3 percent rise in flown air cargo, which amounted to 58,187 tonnes. Full freighter volumes experienced a significant 12.1 percent increase, while belly cargo on passenger flights grew by 7.5 percent. The airport attributes the positive trend to strong growth in e-commerce, which boosted import and transit cargo volumes from Asia and North America. In contrast, trucked air cargo volumes saw a decrease of 6.7 percent.
