British Airways Redeploys Aircraft to Melbourne and Colombo Following Middle East Route Suspensions

British Airways is launching new services to Melbourne, Australia, and Colombo, Sri Lanka, as part of a significant network adjustment. The changes are a direct result of aircraft capacity becoming available after the airline suspended its route to Tel Aviv amid regional conflict. The Melbourne service, which was paused during the pandemic, will be reinstated as a daily one-stop flight via Singapore. The Colombo route will be a new, thrice-weekly seasonal service operating from London Gatwick. This strategic redeployment also includes increased frequencies to Abu Dhabi while suspending flights to Kuwait City.
