British Airways' Record-Breaking Concorde Returns to Public Display in New York
The British Airways Concorde Alpha Delta, which holds the record for the fastest transatlantic crossing, is returning to New York's Intrepid Museum. The supersonic jet has been undergoing a multi-month restoration project at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, which included sanding and repainting. The iconic aircraft will be transported by barge up the Hudson River and lifted by a crane back onto Pier 86. This complex logistical operation will see the Concorde returned to its prominent display for the first time since August 2023. The museum anticipates reopening the exhibit to the public in early April.
