British Airways Owner IAG Reports Record Profits Driven by Strong Travel Rebound
International Airlines Group (IAG), the parent company of British Airways and Iberia, has announced record annual profits for 2023. The group posted a profit of €3.5 billion (£3 billion), a dramatic increase from the previous year. This performance was fueled by a strong resurgence in travel demand, particularly for leisure and on transatlantic routes. IAG's capacity has now returned to 96% of pre-pandemic levels. The company noted that while the recovery in business travel is slower, overall demand remains robust.
