British Airways Owner IAG Confirms Order for 37 Airbus Jets Amid Soaring Travel Demand

International Airlines Group (IAG), the parent company of British Airways and Iberia, has placed a firm order for 37 new Airbus A320neo family aircraft. The decision is driven by a strong rebound in travel demand, which helped the group's profits surge to €68 million in the first quarter. This order, which includes options for an additional 50 jets, finalizes a deal secured in 2022. The new, more fuel-efficient planes are scheduled for delivery between 2028 and 2031. They can be allocated across any of IAG's airlines to modernize its fleet and support continued growth.
