British Airways is eliminating its 'hand baggage-only' fares on all long-haul international routes. The airline's cheapest Economy Basic tickets will now include a 23kg checked bag as a standard feature. This change is designed to simplify the product offering and align with joint-business partners like American Airlines. While the move simplifies the travel experience, it may cause BA's initial fares to appear more expensive in online searches compared to competitors. The new policy applies to all relevant tickets for travel from April 11th and does not affect short-haul flights.
