Boeing Whistleblower Found Dead Amid Legal Action Against Company
John Barnett, a former Boeing quality manager who raised concerns about the company's production standards, has been found dead in the US. Barnett had worked for Boeing for 32 years and was in the midst of giving evidence in a whistleblower lawsuit against the aerospace giant. He had previously alleged that under-pressure workers were fitting sub-standard parts to aircraft on the production line. Barnett also voiced serious concerns about faulty oxygen systems on the 787 Dreamliner, suggesting one in four could fail in a real-world emergency. His death is currently under investigation as Boeing faces intense scrutiny over its safety culture.
