Boeing Spearheads Research in Spain to Protect eVTOLs from Jamming and Spoofing
Boeing is leading a new research project in Spain to enhance the safety of future advanced air mobility (AAM) platforms. In collaboration with Spain's air navigation provider ENAIRE and the Galician Institute of Technology (ITG), the project will focus on protecting electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft from GPS jamming and spoofing. The research, conducted under the project name JAMS, aims to develop robust navigation systems for these new aircraft. Testing will take place at ITG’s facilities in Rozas, Lugo, to assess vulnerabilities and create effective protection techniques. This initiative is crucial for the safe integration of AAM vehicles into the airspace, especially in complex urban environments.
