Boeing Sells Wisk Aero to Archer, Taking Stake in Consolidated eVTOL Venture
Boeing has sold its electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) subsidiary, Wisk Aero, to its competitor Archer Aviation. As part of this strategic transaction, Boeing will acquire a significant equity stake in the newly combined entity. The deal aims to consolidate resources and accelerate the development and certification of electric air taxis. It also resolves all litigation between the two companies, which had been in a dispute over intellectual property. This move combines Wisk's autonomous flight technology with Archer's piloted eVTOL aircraft program, creating a more powerful player in the urban air mobility market.
