Boeing Pauses 737 MAX Deliveries Due to New Wiring Installation Issue
Boeing has once again halted deliveries of some 737 MAX aircraft to address a new manufacturing quality issue. The problem, discovered by supplier Spirit AeroSystems, involves incorrectly installed wiring bundles in the aft section of the fuselage. This nonconformance affects aircraft currently in production and those awaiting delivery, forcing Boeing to perform rework. While the Federal Aviation Administration has been notified, the issue is not considered an immediate safety-of-flight risk for the existing in-service fleet. This setback disrupts Boeing's efforts to stabilize and ramp up its 737 production rates.
