Boeing Nears Spirit AeroSystems Deal; RTX Tallies Engine Costs as Air India Express Faces Mass Cancellations

Boeing is reportedly close to a deal to reacquire its former subsidiary, Spirit AeroSystems, with the transaction expected to be funded primarily with cash. Spirit is also in separate negotiations with Airbus to handle the parts of its business that supply the European manufacturer. In other major industry news, RTX has stated the total cost of the Pratt & Whitney geared turbofan engine issues will be between $3-3.5 billion. Meanwhile, Air India Express is canceling 80-90 flights daily due to a mass 'sick out' by cabin crew protesting new employment terms following the airline's merger.
