Boeing Faces Critical Four-Year Production Gap for Military Aircraft in St. Louis

Boeing is facing a significant logistical problem at its St. Louis, Missouri production site. The company's new $175 million Advanced Coatings Center, intended for painting military aircraft, will not be operational until 2029. However, the existing paint facility is scheduled to be demolished by 2025 to accommodate a runway expansion at St. Louis Lambert International Airport. This creates a four-year gap where Boeing will have no local facility to paint key military jets. The issue threatens to disrupt production and delivery schedules for crucial programs, including the F-15, F/A-18, and the T-7A Red Hawk trainer.
