Boeing Delivers Artemis III Core Stage to Kennedy Space Center for Lunar Mission
Boeing has successfully transported the massive core stage for NASA's Artemis III mission to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The 212-foot-tall rocket component traveled from the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans aboard the Pegasus barge. This journey marks a critical milestone for the mission slated to return astronauts to the lunar surface. At Kennedy, the stage will undergo final preparations and be integrated with the other parts of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. The SLS is the most powerful rocket ever built, designed to enable deep-space exploration.
