BETA Technologies Partners with North Carolina for eVTOL Integration Pilot Program
BETA Technologies has launched a pilot program with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to integrate electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft into the state’s transportation system. The partnership involves four local communities: Elizabeth City, Monroe, Statesville, and Jacksonville. As part of the program, BETA will provide its ALIA-250 eVTOL aircraft and install multimodal, interoperable charging infrastructure. The initiative aims to develop a comprehensive implementation plan for advanced air mobility (AAM) by studying infrastructure needs, public engagement, and operational procedures. This collaboration positions North Carolina as a key player in the emerging electric aviation sector.
