BETA Technologies and Metro Aviation Test ALIA Electric Aircraft for Texas EMS
BETA Technologies, in partnership with helicopter operator Metro Aviation, has successfully demonstrated its ALIA electric aircraft for emergency medical services (EMS) in Texas. The test, conducted for CHRISTUS Health, involved simulating a critical organ transport mission to a hospital in Tyler. During the demonstration, the eVTOL aircraft flew a mock human heart from a charging station directly to the hospital's helipad. This event showcases the potential of electric aviation to provide faster, quieter, and more sustainable solutions for life-saving medical transport. The successful test marks a significant step toward integrating these advanced aircraft into the national airspace and existing EMS operations.
