Belgian Airports Unite to Launch Digital Customs Platform for Air Cargo
Belgium's major cargo hubs, including Brussels, Liege, and Ostend-Bruges airports, are collaborating on a major digitalisation initiative. Spearheaded by the Air Cargo Belgium association, the project aims to create a unified digital platform for customs processes. This new system, known as the 'Green Lane,' is being developed in partnership with NxtPort/Portbase and Belgian Customs. The platform will streamline the flow of customs declarations and related documents, significantly reducing paperwork and manual checks. This move is expected to enhance efficiency and reinforce Belgium's position as a key European air cargo logistics centre.
