Belfast International Airport Named UK's Worst for Flight Delays in 2023
Belfast International Airport has been identified as the worst in the UK for flight delays in 2023, according to new data from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The average delay for departing flights from the Northern Ireland hub was 30 minutes. London Gatwick was the second-worst performer, with an average delay of 27 minutes. An airport spokesperson attributed the poor punctuality to widespread air traffic control issues across Europe and the UK. The CAA's analysis covered 22 commercial airports, revealing a national average delay of 23 minutes per flight.
