Belfast International Airport Eyes New US and European Routes After Owner's Edinburgh Deal
Belfast International Airport (BIA) is anticipating the addition of new routes following the acquisition of a majority stake in Edinburgh Airport by BIA's owner, Vinci Airports. The airport's managing director expressed optimism that this new relationship will strengthen their negotiating position with airlines for expansion. Potential new connections include a direct route to the United States and additional services across Europe. This development comes as the airport is also on schedule to open its new £100m security building in the summer of 2024, further enhancing its infrastructure.
