Russell W. Meyer Jr., the former longtime chairman and CEO of Cessna Aircraft Co., has passed away at the age of 93. Meyer is widely celebrated as an icon in business aviation for his transformative leadership at Cessna. He is credited with saving the company from financial difficulties and pioneering the world's bestselling family of business jets, the Citation line. A fierce advocate for the industry, Meyer was also instrumental in the passage of the 1994 General Aviation Revitalization Act. His efforts helped revive the production of piston-powered aircraft in the U.S.
