Aviation Groups Challenge DHS Proposal to Reduce CBP Airport Services
The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has joined a coalition of aviation organizations to formally oppose a proposal by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This new rule would change the requirements for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) services at airports across the country. The coalition argues that the proposal would eliminate essential customs facilities at airports that are vital for business and general aviation. They warn that such a move would disrupt international travel, harm local economies, and force flights to divert to already congested major hubs. The group is urging DHS to withdraw the proposal and maintain the current level of CBP support.
