Austin Chosen as Key Test Site for FAA's Advanced Air Mobility Program
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is one of five locations selected for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) new pilot program. This initiative focuses on testing and integrating Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) vehicles, also known as air taxis. The program's goal is to develop safe and efficient flight corridors for these electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Austin will work alongside NASA and vehicle manufacturers to establish routes between the airport and other locations, paving the way for potential commercial operations by 2028.
