Aurigny Finalizes Deal for Three New ATR 72-600 Aircraft
Guernsey's state-owned airline, Aurigny, has signed a deal to purchase three new ATR 72-600 aircraft. This acquisition is part of a £70 million fleet renewal program aimed at replacing its existing ATR planes. The new aircraft are touted to be 15% more fuel-efficient, aligning with goals for lower emissions and operational costs. The first of the new planes is scheduled for delivery in August 2025. This investment follows a reported loss for the airline in 2023 and an ongoing strategic review by the government.
