Ampaire's Eco Caravan Completes Milestone Hybrid-Electric Flight Across Utah
Hybrid-electric aviation company Ampaire has successfully completed a 341-mile demonstration flight of its Eco Caravan aircraft across Utah. The flight from Ogden to St. George showcased the nine-seat aircraft's capability for serving regional routes with significantly lower emissions. This test is part of a series of flights supported by the Utah legislature to promote sustainable aviation. The Eco Caravan, a modified Cessna Grand Caravan, is designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions by 50 to 70 percent. Ampaire is targeting Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification for the aircraft by 2024.
