American Airlines Pilots Union Demands Representation on Board of Directors
The Allied Pilots Association (APA), which represents 15,000 American Airlines pilots, is formally requesting seats on the company's board of directors. In a letter to the board, APA President Capt. Ed Sicher argued that pilot involvement at the highest level is essential to restore trust and improve the airline's operational performance. The union contends that management's poor planning has led to significant operational disruptions, including widespread delays and cancellations. APA believes that having pilots with direct operational expertise on the board would help align corporate strategy with the long-term health and reliability of the airline.
