Alaska Airlines Grounds Boeing 737 MAX 9 Fleet After Mid-Air Fuselage Incident
An Alaska Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing after a section of its fuselage, including a window, blew out shortly after takeoff from Portland, Oregon. The incident on the Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft caused rapid depressurization, but the plane returned safely with all passengers and crew. In response, Alaska Airlines has grounded its entire fleet of 65 Boeing 737 MAX 9 jets for immediate safety inspections. The US Federal Aviation Administration has also ordered the temporary grounding of certain models for mandatory checks. Passengers have praised the flight crew for their calm and professional handling of the emergency.
