Airforwarders Association Expresses Cautious Optimism Over US-Iran De-escalation
The Airforwarders Association (AfA) has welcomed the apparent de-escalation of military tensions between the United States and Iran. The group considers the move away from a broader conflict a significant positive development for the global air cargo industry. A full-scale war would have caused major disruptions, including widespread airspace closures, and sharp increases in fuel and insurance costs. The AfA hopes the eased tensions will lead to the lifting of recent FAA flight restrictions over Iraq, Iran, and the Persian Gulf. These restrictions have forced carriers to take longer, more expensive routes for cargo shipments.
