Airbus Reports 28% Drop in Q1 Profits Amid Challenging Operational Environment
Airbus announced a significant 28% decline in its first-quarter net income, falling to €595 million ($637 million). Despite the profit drop, the European planemaker saw its revenues increase by 9% to €12.8 billion, driven by higher aircraft deliveries. The company delivered 142 commercial aircraft during the quarter, an increase from the 127 delivered in the same period last year. Airbus attributed the lower profits to a challenging operational environment and maintained its full-year guidance. It still plans to deliver approximately 800 commercial aircraft by the end of 2024.
