Airbus Marks Key Milestone with Completion of First A350F Main Deck Cargo Door
Airbus has successfully completed the first main deck cargo door for its new A350F freighter, a significant step in the aircraft's development program. The component, developed by STELIA Aerospace, is the largest cargo door ever designed for an Airbus freighter, measuring 3.7 by 4.1 metres. It features a fully electric mechanism, enhancing reliability and reducing weight compared to traditional hydraulic systems. This milestone keeps the A350F program on track for its scheduled entry into service in 2026. The new freighter is designed to offer a 20 percent reduction in fuel burn and CO2 emissions over its nearest competitor.
