Airbus Begins A350F Freighter Production; GKN Aerospace Expands in Asia

Airbus has officially started production for its new A350F freighter, with the first center wing box now under construction at its facility in Nantes, France. This marks a critical milestone for the cargo aircraft program, which is targeting an entry-into-service date in 2026. In other industry developments, GKN Aerospace is expanding its presence in the Asia-Pacific by acquiring Permanas, a Malaysian engine component repair company. Separately, Thales has won a contract to upgrade navigation aids for the Royal Malaysian Air Force. Iridium is also broadening its reach, working with partners to bring satellite connectivity to more business aviation aircraft.
