Airbus A350-1000ULR Poised to Break 20-Hour Non-Stop Flight Barrier
Airbus is developing an Ultra Long Range (ULR) version of its A350-1000 aircraft, designed to fly for over 20 hours continuously. This new variant will feature an increased maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) and an additional center fuel tank to achieve its extended range. The development is primarily driven by Qantas's 'Project Sunrise' initiative, which aims to connect Sydney non-stop with London and New York. Airbus has already filed for certification with EASA for these modifications. This signals a concrete step towards making some of the world's longest-ever commercial flights a reality.
