Airbus A350-1000ULR: Engineering the Future of 22-Hour Non-Stop Flights for Qantas
Airbus is developing an Ultra Long Range (ULR) version of its A350-1000 specifically for Qantas' ambitious 'Project Sunrise' initiative. This project aims to connect Sydney and Melbourne directly with cities like London and New York. To achieve this feat, the aircraft will be fitted with an Additional Centre Tank (ACT), significantly boosting its fuel capacity. The modification will enable the A350-1000ULR to operate flights lasting up to 22 hours, setting a new benchmark for commercial aviation endurance. These routes will become the longest non-stop commercial flights in the world upon their launch.
