Air India CEO Search Continues as DGCA Probes Turbulence Incident and Mandates Pilot Drug Testing

Concurrently, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has launched an investigation into a severe turbulence incident on an Air India Express flight from Dubai that caused minor injuries to several passengers. In a major policy shift, the DGCA has also mandated new regulations requiring all airlines and air navigation service providers to conduct random psychoactive substance tests on flight crew and air traffic controllers. This rule aims to ensure flight personnel are free from any substances that could impair their abilities and compromise safety.
