Air Greenland Announces Fleet Modernization with Order for Airbus H225 Helicopters
Air Greenland is proceeding with a significant fleet modernization by ordering new Airbus H225 helicopters. These aircraft are set to replace the airline's aging S-61 fleet, which has been in service for approximately 60 years. The new H225s will be utilized for critical Search and Rescue (SAR) missions and passenger transport across Greenland. This acquisition is part of a broader strategy to enhance safety, efficiency, and operational capabilities in the challenging Arctic environment. The new helicopters will be gradually phased into service over the next few years.
