Aerometals Begins Development of Inlet Barrier Filtration System for Airbus H225
Aerometals has announced it is developing an Inlet Barrier Filtration (IBF) system for the Airbus H225 Super Puma helicopter. This new system is designed to protect the twin engines from foreign object damage, such as sand, dust, and other particulates. The technology is critical for operators who fly in harsh and unimproved environments, helping to reduce engine wear and maintenance costs. By improving engine longevity and reliability, the IBF system enhances aircraft availability and safety. Aerometals will seek a supplemental type certificate (STC) for the new hardware upon completion.
