AerCap Places First African Boeing 777-300ERSF Freighters with Ethiopian Airlines
Lessor AerCap has signed a long-term lease agreement with Ethiopian Airlines for two Boeing 777-300ERSF converted freighters. This deal marks the debut of the aircraft type, known as "The Big Twin," on the African continent. The passenger-to-freighter conversions are being carried out by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). The first aircraft is scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2025. This addition will significantly bolster Ethiopian Cargo's capacity, enhancing its position as a leading air freight carrier in the region.
