Aegean Airlines Appoints Dimitris Gerogiannis as New CEO
Aegean Airlines has announced a significant leadership change, appointing Dimitris Gerogiannis as its new Chief Executive Officer. Gerogiannis, a long-serving executive within the group, previously led the airline's MRO subsidiary, Aegean Engineering. He takes over from Eftichios Vassilakis, who will now focus exclusively on his role as the company's Chairman. This transition is part of a planned move to separate the roles of Chairman and CEO, aligning with best practices in corporate governance. Gerogiannis has been with the company since its early days in 1999.
