AAPA Calls for Stronger Government Collaboration to Support Sustainable Aviation Growth
The Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) is urging governments to enhance their support and collaboration with the aviation industry. During their Assembly of Presidents, the association highlighted the need for a partnership approach to tackle significant challenges. Key areas of concern include the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and the development of critical infrastructure like airports and air traffic management. The AAPA warns that unilateral government mandates on SAF, without sufficient supply, could drive up costs and hinder progress. A holistic and cooperative strategy is deemed essential for the region's airlines to meet their 2050 net-zero emissions targets.
