AAIB Report: Stall During Go-Around Likely Caused Cessna 150 Crash at Popham Airfield
The UK's Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has released its final report on the crash of a Cessna FRA150L, G-PPFS, at Popham Airfield. The incident occurred on 20 June 2023 as the pilot was performing a go-around. According to the investigation, the aircraft yawed left and the wing dropped, leading to a collision with the ground. The pilot and passenger sustained minor injuries, but the aircraft was destroyed. The AAIB concluded that the pilot likely experienced a loss of control from a stall at a height from which recovery was not possible. The aircraft was also noted to be operating close to its maximum authorised weight.
