3M and JetZero Partner to Develop Fuel-Efficient Blended-Wing Aircraft

Materials science company 3M is partnering with aerospace startup JetZero to develop a new blended-wing body aircraft. 3M will provide advanced lightweight materials, including films, composites, and adhesives for the jet's construction. The primary goal is to create a more sustainable aircraft for the mid-market segment, targeting a 50% reduction in fuel consumption and emissions. Backed by the U.S. Air Force for a full-scale demonstrator, JetZero aims for the new aircraft to enter commercial service by 2030.
