15 Lawsuits Filed in Deadly California Plane Crash That Killed UPS Driver and Pilot
At least 15 lawsuits have been filed following the fatal October 2021 crash of a twin-engine Cessna in Santee, California. The incident killed the pilot, Dr. Sugata Das, and a UPS driver, Steve Krueger, who was in his truck on the ground. The aircraft crashed into a residential neighborhood, destroying two homes and damaging several others as survivors recalled seeing a 'huge ball of fire.' The lawsuits have been brought by Krueger's widow and other affected residents against the estate of the deceased pilot. According to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the pilot likely suffered from spatial disorientation, which led to the tragic crash.
